Maidenhead MP Theresa May visited the Gallery in February and was shown round the current exhibition ‘Everywhere is Heaven’ which is the Stanley Spencer Gallery’s first exhibition to show the work of a contemporary artist alongside works by Stanley Spencer. A number of works by Roger Wagner, from private collections, are hung in the Gallery alongside works from the Stanley Spencer Gallery and the Fitzwilliam Museum, Cambridge.
Theresa May said, ‘The Stanley Spencer Gallery is a hidden local gem. We are so fortunate in having it on our doorstep and I always enjoy visiting it. Seeing a contemporary artist featured adds a new dimension to the experience’.
Theresa was shown around the exhibition by Dr Scot McKendrick, Chair of Trustees and Amanda Bradley Petitgas, Trustee, pictured with Theresa May.
