Daphne hanging dresses using frames to hang on

Volume 2 of the Astor Collection of Drawings
Set in the White Hart Inn, Leonard Stanley, the drawing shows ‘Daphne hanging dresses over the pictures using the frames as a place to hitch the dress hanger on as there was no wardrobe.’ To the left, Stanley dons a shirt, while a beneficent Holy Ghost onlooker kneels on the other side. A sketch on the verso depicts ‘Hilda & me at Cologne 1922’.
