Stanley Spencer Summer Stroll

 

 

 

 

 

There’s an opportunity to have a pleasant walk through the Cookham countryside whilst learning more about Stanley Spencer’s favourite views and the location of some of his paintings on Wednesday 4^th September.

A guided walk in the artist’s footsteps will start at the Gallery at 10.00am and take in Cockmarsh, Winter Hill and the river, returning at about 12.30pm. The total distance is about four miles, mostly on paths and pavements, with no stiles and several gates.

The walk will be led by Gallery archivist Ann Danks, who will provide lots of interesting detail about Stanley Spencer and his local work. Illustrations of his work will be provided to help show locations.
